Niall Mooney is an animation director and amateur Photographer based in Belfast, Northern Ireland.

Maybe it’s my love of film and animation that influences the way I look at the world. I am constantly thinking of framing and composition before I even pick up my camera. 

I never set out to photograph anything in particular, I wander and if something catches my eye, I try to capture that moment. I always try and make framing choices in the viewfinder, not afterwards, as I think it makes you think more in the moment and makes for better compositions. My images might not always follow the ‘rules’ but if it feel right I do it. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t but you’ll never get better if you don’t take risks.

I’m not sure I have a ‘style’ or maybe I don’t have to have one, maybe that will eventually come but I’m always looking to try and capture in an interesting way. 

My goal is to get out, take more photos and get better with every photo I take.

I use a Sony a6000, a Cannon Rebel xti and an apple iPhoneX.
